So I’m killing an hour at Mercedes-Benz of Saint Louis. Lots of eye candy here.

I’m tempted to buy that Fiat.

I hate the motor in the 124, its so dull. You get a shove of power at 3500 rpm and then it just flat-lines after that.

Not to mention the half dozen or so times my friend’s 500 Abarth has been to the dealer for engine work. One time including a new turbo ... VS my Miata’s zero.

I like the car, I like the noise, I just couldn't though.

The GT looks a bit plain in pictures but quite nice in person. I want one very much.

Not opposed to the 124 based on looks but I think I’d still have the MX5 instead.

Do it! Go off brand at a fancy dealership!  I once went to MB of Buffalo to look at a 135i.  Eventually bought my 128i from a Jaguar dealership.

Ha! My car is at the dealer right now too, for service and a recall. But I took a GLA250 loaner instead of drooling over the AMG stuff in the showroom.

Same, if I had that kind of money it’d be a very tough choice between the GT and a 911 Turbo or GT3 since they’re more or less in the same price range.

I just tried building a GT3 online and it’s crazy how quickly I could buy a whole other car with the price of options. The carbon ceramic brake package alone is probably close to the value of my current car...

The AMGs are down in the high sixties-low seventies used, which is 997 Turbo or 997 GT3 money. The lack of a manual on the AMG is my problem.

Plus, my perspective is to buy the oldest 911 I can afford!

I was looking at brand new MSRP compared to the current 992 , but I’d still be excited as hell for a used 997.

Also, I’m one of those heathens who’d probably get a PDK with my GT3 so the lack of a manual option isn’t a dealbreaker for me.

The dealbreaker at the moment is my bank account balance but I’m working on that.

No, I was bemoaning the fact that I had to leave and go to work instead of looking at the good stuff.

The GLA is pretty solid, I agree - it has to be kept in sport mode though, Comfort just up shifts too fast and keeps the engine lugging.  I’m also very spoiled by all the torque and no lag that my E class has.
